We are pleased to announce that the Russian Arbitration Associaton created an organization for the young arbitration practitioners – the Russian Arbitration Association 40 (RAA40).

RAA40 is a continuator of the Moscow Arbitration Forum 40 (MAF40). MAF40’s integration into RAA will facilitate pursuit of the common goal of both organizations – promotion and support of arbitration in the Russian Federation. The consequent change of name of the young practitioners’ organization reflects the extension of its geographical reach. Membership in RAA and RAA40 will remain independent of each other.

MAF40 was founded by three Co Chairs – Francesca Albert, Anton Asoskov and Richard Chlup. They created Russia’s first organization of young arbitration practitioners and they energy and enthusiasm it became a renown and popular forum for exchange of ideas and sharing experience.

From 27 September 2013 new Co Chairs will lead RAA40: Olesya Petrol, private practitioner (olesya.petrol@olesyapetrol.ru), Sergey Usoskin, Russian attorney (sergey.usoskin@inarlaw.ru), Ivan Chuprunov, Associate, Linklaters (ivan.chuprunov@linklaters.com) and Anna Shumilova, Legal Manager at the Litigation Department of OJSC Rosneft (aashumilova@rosneft.ru).

The new Co Chairs will continue the tradition of organizing regular seminars addressing topical arbitration-related issues. They also intend to carry out other projects reflecting the goals of RAA40, including, in particular, publication of a newsletter and securing various benefits for the members of RAA40 (such as facilitating their participation in various arbitration-related events and projects in Russia and abroad).
